Jim Johnston is the Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at McElroy Manufacturing in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He has been with McElroy for 33 years.  In his current role he is responsible for:  Standards, Industry Relations, Business Intelligence, and Information Technology.

Jim’s career has included all facets of the thermoplastic piping industry from supply chain, manufacturing, engineering, and leadership to consultation on design and installation of fused thermoplastic piping systems. He is a regular presenter both domestically and internationally on the importance of plastic piping systems and fusion processes for industries including, natural gas distribution, oil and gas gathering, mining, data centers, water usage and conservation, agriculture, and many others.  

He holds an Engineering Physics degree from the University of Tulsa. 

Jim is very active in the standards community and is the current Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Plastics Pipe Institute.
